A recent piece in SNL Energy stressed the need for expanded energy infrastructure in Pennsylvania to tap the wealth of shale deposits.
The piece detailed that “state and local governments, private companies and regulators need to cooperate across the state to capitalize on Pennsylvania’s shale gas riches to attract companies that will add value to the surplus of raw gas and liquids, a study said. It called on the state to re-establish a petrochemical industry that leads to advanced materials and then to advanced data-driven manufacturing, the report, authored by the business consulting firm McKinsey & Co., said.”
Forbes elaborated that “driven by the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, Appalachia will easily be the largest supplier of new natural gas in the U.S.” Pipeline projects across Pennsylvania deserve support for their role in capitalizing on local natural gas wealth and bringing benefits to people across the Appalachian region.
