New Opportunities and Careers in Welding

The team at the West Hills Center of the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) detail the benefits of their welding program.

 

According to Ron Logreco, Dean of the West Hills Center, Community College of Allegheny County, “We offer classes year-round, three shifts a day. We’ve even had to open up midnight welding last year because of the popularity of welding with the cracker plant.”

According to Patrick Camut, welding student at the West Hills Center, Community College of Allegheny County, “Coming to CCAC to take Welding Technology was a way for me to really build a strong foundation in welding.”

According to Cody Stroud, welding instructor at the West Hills Center, Community College of Allegheny County, there are a number of opportunities found in welding across pipeline welding to working with the fabrication companies building materials for the pipelines. He explains that the program sets the students up with the skills to “build a career and make great money.”
