Pipeline opponents continue to talk out of both sides of their mouths. One day they say that more needs to be done to ensure the safe operation of pipelines even though their motives are to delay and ultimately halt the safe transport of much-needed energy resources. This week, these anti-pipeline groups are touting delays that are ensuring the safe operation of the Mariner East 2 pipeline as their latest arguments against the continued construction of this important infrastructure project for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
What can not be more clear is the fact that these ideology-driven, anti-pipeline activists do not have a basic understanding of the construction or pipeline commissioning process to speak with any kind of credibility. It has been well-documented that Sunoco has the policies in place to exceed all federal regulations for pipeline safety; however such facts are dismissed for more rhetoric by these groups and individuals.
The Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance looks forward to Mariner East 2’s contribution to helping Pennsylvania fully realize its energy potential through the Marcellus Shale formation.
