With the holidays in full swing, the season of giving has arrived. It’s important to give back to those less fortunate, and ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the holidays. There are ample charities that assist those in need year round, and they kick into high gear this time of year. Upticks in donations help spread holiday cheer to individuals and families in Pennsylvania, and across the country.
One such charity is Toys for Tots, a program which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford gifts on their own. The program is run by the United States Marine Corps, and has received considerable donations in Pennsylvania in recent weeks. Largely from organizations and businesses, Mariner East leads the way.
As The Huntington Daily News writes:
“Thanks to some big donations from companies, organizations and businesses, many more children will have an opportunity to have a great holiday season courtesy of Huntingdon County Toys for Tots. The biggest donation is from Michels Corp., the company responsible for the Mariner East II pipeline throughout the county, said Huntingdon County Toys for Tots coordinator Wendy Williams.”
