Pipelines are the safest way to transport energy resources. They are layered and constructed to withstand various impediments in order to safely operate underground.

The first process of constructing a pipeline is to mold the steel. Pipelines use steel because it has the greatest strength. Pennsylvania-based pipeline companies use local manufacturers’ steel in constructing their pipeline projects. The steel industry generates more than $9.35 billion a year for Pennsylvania, and support close to 80,000 full and part-time jobs.

The laborers who work in the initial construction of pipelines take great pride in doing a safe, reliable job. They care about the well-being of their community and support the expansion of underground pipeline projects.
