Delaware County Daily Times: Pa. is a natural hub for energy growth

Trish McFarland, President of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of the Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance, published a Letter to the Editor in the Delaware County Daily Times over the weekend. In the piece, McFarland pointed to the positive direct and indirect benefits that developing energy infrastructure across Pennsylvania provides local economies and cited Governor Wolf’s Pipeline Infrastructure Taskforce as a step in the right direction.

McFarland notes, “From a timely regulatory and permitting process, to support from leaders in the state and at the community level, to infrastructure investment, we must take responsible action to maximize the benefits of natural gas development here. It is encouraging to see a renewed focus on helping our state rise to the occasion. Gov. Wolf announced a Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force, and there has been significant support for the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex revitalization project, as part of the $3 billion Mariner East natural gas liquids project, which will help establish our region as the Northeast hub for distribution of natural gas liquids to commercial markets.”

With new projects and innovation developing across the state, it’s essential for our energy infrastructure to keep up with growing competition.
