Diverse Infrastructure Helps Pennsylvania

As Pennsylvania continues to grow and expand our natural gas infrastructure, we need to ensure that we aren’t simply sending it away. We should do everything we can to make sure that the benefits of Pennsylvania’s natural gas are going to Pennsylvania’s citizens – and expanding our infrastructure is just the way to do that.

Shell is set to open up a $6 billion ethane cracker plant in Beaver County soon, which will not only create additional jobs for hard working Pennsylvanian’s, but provide some downstream infrastructure that allows us to take the natural gas that we produce and create additional products. That’s not all, though, as,

“The hope is that in addition to Shell’s cracker, which is being built to supply its customers within a 700-mile radius of the plant, other crackers will be built in the tri-state region that will attract additional petrochemical manufacturers. Gas producers such as Range Resources already are tapping European export markets for propane and ethane.”
