David Spigelmyer, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, published an opinion editorial in the Delaware County Times, highlighting how the development of the Marcellus Shale has provided new economic opportunities for labor groups throughout the region.
In the piece, Jim Kunz business manager of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 and member of the Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance, noted, “When we needed jobs most – during a generational crisis – shale delivered,” calling the natural gas industry “a godsend” that’s “helping to boost jobs with family-supporting pay and good benefits.”
